Winter is finally here! We got up early Wednesday morning to make our way to Poznan. Now, the road to Poznan has improved dramatically since we arrived in 2010, but....
...this is still what we were following. Travel was slow, even on a divided highway. We arrived in Poznan minutes before......the Szczecin District showed up! Here they are helping President Nielson take their supplies from our car. (LtoR): Elders Stumpf, Van Bakel, Roberts and Gladun.
Elder and Sister Reed were the next to arrive. We appreciate this good couple who does so much to keep the Poznan Branch going strong.
The Poznan District has arrived....(Elders Gudnason, Tiner and Stockford). Elders Gudnason and Tiner were ready to teach all they had learned at Zone Leader Council to their Zone. They did a great job and covered everything from clarification of guidelines to mission goals for 2013.
The Poznan Sisters, Bezdjian and Allen, were last to arrive; but always looking for people to talk with.
A Merry Christmas from the Elders of the Poznan and Szczecin Elders. (They posed this for their mothers!)
With Zone Training Meeting over, it was time to get ready for English class....the best finding tool in Poland. Here the Reeds are teaching Advanced English where the students use the Liahona as their manual.
After English we decided to go on a walk in the Rynek with the Reeds.
To our delight, the International Ice Carving Exhibit was on display. These ice scuptures were set off beautifully by colored lights.
The above is my personal favorite.....a little girl smelling a giant flower. The judges had a different idea. Here is the 1st Place Winner (Prize: 1500 Euros). I'm not sure what it was...but it impressed the judges!
It was back to the Hotel for some rest. Tomorrow we have a very busy day....
