New Missionaries....2nd Day!

The first thing Wednesday morning Elder Zelezniak, Sister Peterson and Sister Holmgren met in the mission office to get paperwork in order for their Residence Cards. The Office Elders (Tanner and Gudnason) along with Elder and Sister Peck have things ready to go. Then is was off to the Rynek area for contacting. The mission begins. It was a rainy day but what better way to start missionary work! The Assistants, Elders Myler and Basha, helped a little with the language; but for the most part, our new Missionaries contacted people on their own. Here the Sisters are explaining about the Book of Mormon. They did a great job of approaching people and telling them about our wonderful message. Then is was back to the Mission Home where the Trainers had been meeting with President going over their new responsibilities in training these great new missionaries.
But first everyone needed to learn of their new assigned areas of labor and who their new companions would be...Elder Krzyminski had been our first Assistant and was now being assigned to train and serve with Elder Zelezniak in...the beautiful city of KRAKOW!Sister Peterson will be serving with Sister Sheahan and will be assigned to...WARSAW and the Warsaw I Branch and District.Sister Holmgren will be serving with Sister Forsey.  They will be assigned to...WARSAW and the Warsaw II Branch and District. The new Missionaries (Trainees) and their companions (Trainers). All are anxious to get out to work and serve. They spent the next few hours going over the new Training Program from the Missionary Department. They will have an additional 60 minutes each day for companionship study to assist in becoming effective teachers. With all the excitement of new companions, our Assistants are happy to serve together too. Our new Assistants: Elders Basha and Myler. We have Zone Confernces next week so they will be busy. After our training meetings we had a "grill" and everyone (Sisters Forsey, Sheahan, Peterson and Holmgren) helped in the kitchen and...outside in the rain cooking the hamburgers. Thank you Assistants! We still are getting ready for Zone Conferences. While the new missionaries are packing up and getting ready for their first transfer, the Assistants and President are looking over a "new" District 3 DVD that somehow appeared in the office....The departure time has arrived and they are ready to get to their new apartments and new areas. Even though this is across town, its still half way around the world. This is the second day for Sisters Holmgren and Peterson, but they are in great hands with Sisters Sheahan and Forsey. These are great Sisters and companionships.

It's off to Krakow for Elders Krzyminski and Zelezniak. What a great day and the start of more wonderful things in the mission. There is nothing as great and rewarding as the Mission Field. The Lord is blessing us as we see the great missionaries that are serving so valiantly.  We love our Poland Warsaw Missionaries!
