District Leader Training--Bydgoszcz

After last Friday's Zone Leader Council Meeting and all that was presented there, the Zone Leaders decided that a District Leader's Training meeting was needed...immediately! So Bydgoszcz was our first stop...

Elders Krzyminski (District Leader Gdansk District), Tanner (District Leader Bydgoszcz District), Murphey (Zone Leader- Bydgoszcz Zone), Lundin (Zone Leader- Bydgoszcz Zone), Buckner (District Leader Poznan) and Elders Hillyard and Dabrowski (Assistants).

Training began at 10:30 and everything was set up and ready to go.

Elder Tanner comments on Training being provided by the Zone Leaders. Finding and Teaching Families, the Importance of Prayer, Specific Areas to Proselyte and the New In-Field Training that begins with our November Transfers and arrival of new missionaries were the topics of the day.

One of our favorite people in Bydgoszcz. The man who makes and delivers the "mini-pizzas" and dessert rolls. We all love this guy (Marcin)...

We have been concentrating on Companionship Study each morning at 9:00. This lasts for one hour and teaching, planning and role playing are critical. Elder Krzyminski shows everyone what a well-used and well-planned out day looks like. This is one page from his Daily Planner.

The Bydgoszcz Zone Leaders, Elders Murphey and Lundin, teach and train on what was discussed and taught last week in Zone Leader Council. They both did an excellent job of "getting the water to the end of the row".

The Leadership in Bydgoszcz has also realigned the areas of the city. Each companionship will proselyte in these areas and be accountable for what happens and make sure everyone has the opportunity to hear the gospel. Joining the group is Elder Eastman (he was our Assistant last week), the new junior companion to Elder Tanner. He is a great support in this great city.

Elders Tanner and Krzyminski show off their new presents.... They had each unknowingly brought each other a gift.

The Bydgoszcz District. Sisters Garcia and Steadman joined us for lunch. They add so much to this District and to the Branch.

These great Sisters have an interesting story. As President Monson says, "there are no coincidences". Getting ready to teach a Young Women's lesson on Family History, Sister Steadman and Garcia realized they brought to the mission the same pioneer ancestor story, that of Hannah Knight Libby Carter. This particular day with this lesson, they realized they were distant relatives. When Sister Steadman's mother heard of this, she was drawn to go to the New FamilySearch and see how these two missionaries were related. Upon doing this, she realized that more information had been downloaded on the site and temple work had not been done for these ancestors. Sister Steadman's mother is now working on almost 50 baptisms and ordinances for relatives found due to this search. So.....Sister Garcia and Sister Steadman...you are not only bringing the gospel to the people of Poland but you have had an active part in bringing the gospel to almost 50 of your relatives. GOOD WORK!!!

This truly is the Lord's church. He loves his children and wants all of them, those that live on this earth and those that used to, to have the blessings of the gospel in their lives! I love this church!!!!! I know it is true with all my heart!
