Little things that just go on in the mission...

If you do much driving around Poland, you learn what this sign means and what is just around the corner or up ahead. This wonderful invention is one of our favorite friends around Poland. He has been very good to President. He has never sent him an 'invitation' to pay for anything... This is one of the many Photo devices that are placed in 70 KPH zones to keep drivers honest and obey the speed limit. IF by chance you are going a little faster than you should, this friendly device will take a picture of you.
This is one of the new "modern' versions of our friend, "Fotoradar". This big "Yellow Thing" just appeared one day. Now President grew up in Mesa and has always been a Phoenix Suns fan. As a Suns fan, a team that you just can't appreciate is the LA Lakers. The day this Fotoradar went up, President learned that the unpopular Lakers acquired Dwight Howard. Since President is not a fan of these Fotoradars and the Lakers, and since this device is in 'Laker Yellow', he now refers to this as "Dwight". "Dwight" has really slowed down traffic in the middle....
A couple of days later coming in another direction, in the same intersection, another 'Laker Yellow' device appeared. President calls this guy "Kobe". Then a day after this, guess who appeared...
...you got it, the worst of all cases- Steve Nash! Now the first weekend these devices were active, 2,000 pictures were taken. So many of our Polish drivers were doing something they should not have been doing. Luckily, President was not one of those receiving a special notice. This is a busy intersection and now it is ruined with 'Laker Yellow' and the Big 3. You cannot go through this intersection without being watched by these guys. President in not a fan of driving this way.
Unfortunately on our way home we drive right by Dwight and Nash. Enough to make President drive faster (but he doesn't) ....
However, just around this major intersection is this interesting sign. Not sure what to do here, we do whatever the car in front of us does...Now, if you do something that Fotoradar doesn't like, it takes a picture of you. This looks like one of our cars. But the enlarged photo of the driver can't be one of our missionaries. The innocent passenger is gratefully blocked out. At least the driver had his companion close by. We are positive that they were late to an appointment and therefore drove a bit too fast. Who is this person driving? (probably a Suns fan
Then there's this "Dusty" fellow that received this interesting warning. He had better hurry and pay this before the fine and interest go up to 332.54 zl. This must be a mistake because the "Dusty" that we know would have never done what this ticket states. We don't ride buses or trams without first buying a ticket. Nope, this must be a mistake.

  1. Hahaha, as a huge Laker fan, reading this made me laugh out loud. Apologies to President for the wonderful season we are about to have! :)
