Bydgoszcz Leadership Training...plus a little visiting!

We started again at 5:30am by picking up President Nabozny and heading to Bydgoszcz in the rain. One thing about Conference meetings in Bydgoszcz, for lunch we have these mini Pizzas (pizzerki) and desserts (drowdzowki). They are tasty and about 3zl each. They are made around the corner from the Chapel. They make a delicious and quick lunch.
I don't know what it is about this group but they like to huddle and eat in the kitchen. It is so small but I guess they don't have to walk far for the food. The getting together is always a fun part of these meetings. We start on time and end on time with a short lunch. Planning (even for conferences) is important.
Yes, I love these desserts. Another plus for Bydgoszcz, and I don't have to cook anything!!!!
Elders Murphey and Hillyard- new Zone Leader and Assistant. Both great missionaries.

Elder Fletcher and his companion Elder Lundin (new District Leader in Bydgoszcz), Elders Hillyard, Murphey, Buckner (new District Leader and Branch President in Poznan), Nielson (wondering what Elder Buckner is wearing to hold up his pants) and Garrett (now in Gdansk as a new District Leader).

After lunch just before the afternoon training started, there was talk about who was the strongest...some things never change!

Sisters Steadman and Garcia (companions in Bydgoszcz) and Elders Fritzsch (serving in Poznan) and Fletcher get ready for contacting. They all went out and did a great job setting up appointments and placing copies of the Book of Mormon.

During some of the morning training, President Nabozny instructed the Sisters on the new Language course we are implimenting in the mission. If parents are reading this, ask your missionaries what is involved and encourage them to stay up with the schedule. This is a year- long series of learning and testing. Thanks for your help and support.

At the end of a productive day, Elders Hillyard, Buckner, Lundin, Eastman, Nielson, Murphey, Krzyminski (in Gdansk and new Trainer- a great missionary!!) and Garrett, all head out for home and to do the work. These are wonderful missionaries. They are developing into great leaders in the mission and for the Church in future days. I love our ("my") missionaries.
Now on to the next event.....Not only do we love coming to Bydgoszcz to visit our missionaries and eat 'pizzerkis', but it also gives us a chance to visit our good friends, the Wencels.
At a nearby park with Alicia, Andrzej and their daughter Ola. (They are expecting a son (Adam) in October!) Andrzej had just fixed us a delicious dinner and we had decided to take a walk. We love and appreciate this little family so much. They do much to further the church here in Poland.
This picture is for my grandkids to let them know that Grandma is trying to keep us her 'skills' so we can have many park days ahead of us once she returns home.
Elders Lundin, Fletcher, Sisters Garcia and Steadman, and Elders Murphey and Nielson. These dedicated missionaries are looking for those who are seeking truth. Along with the members of the Bydgoszcz Branch, they are building the church in this part of the Lord's vineyard! They are obedient and blessings are coming!

  1. I'm glad that I found this website. My wife and I will be visiting Warsaw for six weeks starting in the next few weeks. We are in the process of finishing our adoption of two beautiful children. We were hoping the find the church our first Sunday in Warsaw. It looks like there will be wonderful support while we are there.

We would love to get in contact with you to ask some questions about locations and services. Please contact me at skpettit@gmail.com if you have a chance.

  2. Did Siostra Steadman and Garcia tell you they discovered they are related? It is a fun pioneer story. Thanks for your wonderful pictures. We check the blog every day to stay in tuned with our missionary in Poland.
