Today we leave Las Vegas... Poland We Are So Excited.

President Jeff Parker (Las Vegas Red Rock stake) and Lisa. Jeff is Judi's favorite brother (and only brother). These two have brought a joy and peace into our lives that is wonderful.
Angie Westmoreland, whom we greatly appreciate. She has been a friend of the family for many years and is family.
Office Staff at Sunburst Shutters Las Vegas. Leah Bond(R) and Angie Westmoreland(L). We are in great shape with these two watching things.
Saying Goodbye to Lynn Mundt, Gwen & Chris Hilbus, Cathy & Ed Torrance, Dave & Pam Oka. Chris and Dave were counselors together to Stan when he was bishop. Ed was the eternal Scoutmaster and YM leaders for 28 years. Fort Apache ward strength.

  1. Hello,
Thank you for creating this blog. Yours looks like a very happy family.
We're Katherine and Gary Beachum. Our son, Hugh (23), is en route to Warsaw as we write.
Hugh was called to the Warsaw mission, and he left for the MTC on January 20, 2010. Unfortunately, he caught a cold at the MTC. He was diagnosed with bilateral ear infections and given an antibiotic, however, his ear infections became more serious and painful, and Hugh came home in mid May for surgery.
The first surgery didn't go well, so he was referred to Dr. Oliver Adunka, and ENT from Austria! The second surgery was a success, but Hugh got secondary sinusitis and had a long struggle with pain. He expects to have some pain on the flights back to Warsaw, but he's game.
Hugh has a BA in Classical Languages from Duke University, so he knows Latin and Attic Greek, along with some German and French and, now, Polish. He wants to teach. I'm an ER physician and Katherine is an elementary teacher, so we too have a family bent towards service.
We live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and have two younger kids, Hunter (21), attending UNC and also majoring in Classical Languages, and Henry (13). Katherine is from Alabama and I grew up in the military, spending half of my grade-school years in Germany.
My sister married a German, and lives in Berlin and on a farm near Hamburg. Our family has spent a few summers in Berlin.
Hugh's grandfather was a WWII bomber pilot and a prisoner of war in Szczecin (then Stettin) from May 1943 to early 1945, escaping after being transported to Germany. He and his fellow POW's threw some of their rations, mostly potatoes, turnips, and Red-Cross chocolate bars, to starving Polish women and children who came to the edge of the forest that surrounded the camp. It's a wonder that Hugh has now gone to Poland to also feed the hungry.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
    The Beachums
