After seeing Sister Smith and Elders Augustyn and Torke off at the airport at 6:00am, we hurried home to get ready for our next event today....Zone Leader Council Meeting!
The Zone Leaders traveled in from around the country for their Council meeting at 11:00. Because of transfers, we have many changes in mission leadership. We have Elders Curtis and Dabrowski (Katowice); Elders Murphey and Nielson (Bydgoszcz); Elders Sorn and Kennedy (Warsaw). Seated are our Assistants: Elders Hillyard and Eastman.
This was a happy day for President Nielson! As directed, he is supposed to 'check' the 'mission culture' of our mission....and the Zone Leaders are the ones to ask. When the statement was posed to them, "In the Poland Warsaw Mission we....." there wasn't a moments hesitation. "BAPTIZE" was the answer that was shouted out! Our missionaries are 'getting it'. They know why they are in Poland. They are here to 'invite others to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized'. They love the people of Poland and want to help them find happiness and peace not only in this life but in the life to come.
It was a great Zone Leader Council, and the Assistants did an outstanding job with their training and teaching. It was a rainy day but the spirit was shining brightly in our meeting with these great missionaries. Some of the things we went over today will be taught by the Zone Leaders in Leadership Training as we travel to Katowice, Bydgoszcz and here in Warsaw to meet with new District Leaders and Trainers....next week.
