It's Mother's Day (but not today in Poland, they celebrate Mother's Day on May 26), and we started out in Warsaw II.
We arrived and were greeted by our great missionaries. Sister Masters (she just transferred here from Gdansk) and Sister Lenhart (and her Polish is getting very good). Elder Saltmarsh (our new District Leader and such a great missionary), Elder Boyce (he has grown so much in his short time in Poland), Elders Register and Bokinsky (both Office Elders and are fabulous), and our Assistants, Elder Tiner and Zelezniak (These wonderful Elders will be out all this coming week on exchanges helping the mission to become better).
Visiting Warsaw II Branch were James, Kyle and Lidia from Bydgoszcz. Great members and friends of everyone. Kyle had just flown in, and they headed back this afternoon to wish their great mother a special Mother's Day.
There were some changes in the Branch Presidency and in the Branch today at Branch Conference.
We headed home and met...
The Myler Family. Derek (far right) served a short time ago as an assistant and is one of our great missionaries. He and his family had been in Poland all week doing family history work and seeing where "Elder Myler" had served. We enjoyed Mother's Day with this wonderful family and got to know his parents a little better. They have raised a great son. Who would have thought that 'Elder' Myler would someday spend Mother's Day with not only his real mother but his mission mother as well.
Elder Myler and President got caught up on some changes in the mission. It was a great afternoon.
He also spotted his "lucky" tie. Derek wore this tie at all his District Meetings. Good thing he spotted his tie today because in the morning the "tie board" will be retired (and packed up).
It was a great Mother's Day. I was able to visit with all my children and grandchildren, be in Church with our wonderful members and missionaries (and all their investigators)and top the night off with the Myler family. We love Derek and all who have served in the Poland Warsaw Mission. There is a special bond between all our missionaries. There is something very special about serving a mission and developing these sacred friendships (that started long before we came to Poland). I love being a missionary and all the associated blessings.
