Sister Nielson- a very exciting day.

Well, I never thought I would show a picture of my wife in her pajamas especially in the hospital, but this warrants making sure the story is correct.  She had an eventful day.  But she looks beautiful and I want everyone to see her.
I love this girl.

Our day on Tuesday October 9, 2012 started out kind of normal.  Phone calls, workmen in the mission home, meetings to go to and things planned.  Sister Nielson was busy as usual and at 10:00am she was talking with Brother Jarosz about the repairs going on in the mission home.  She felt a little light headed but didn't say anything.   About 11:00am, which is odd for me to be home,  I went in the bedroom.  She was laying down, which never happens, and I thought she had a headache.  I soon realized she did not feel well and could tell by holding her hand that something was wrong.  She was going into cardiac arrest.  We called the Paramedics and when they arrived her heart beat was 260 per minute.  They shocked her with a defibrillator.   It saved her life.  We headed to the Hospital and it was a miracle she is still with us.  The Doctors told us she had Sudden Cardiac Arrest which is sometimes referred to as Sudden Cardiac Death because if a person does not receive immediate medical help, death will occur very quickly. Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is an unexpected death due to cardiac causes occurring in a short time period (generally within 1 hour of symptom onset).  We had a few minutes to get her heart back working correctly and we were blessed.  I emphasize that we were blessed.  The Lord was watching over us.  It was just a miracle.
Sister Nielson is doing fine.  When the Paramedics shocked her heart instantly she came alive.  She will be in the Hospital another week as they run tests.  Nobody is more happy than me.   She will make a full recovery and is going to be fine.
We have felt the power of prayer.  We thank you dearly for caring about her. So many have called, emailed and sent messages of concern.  She is doing great and we appreciate your outpouring of love and concern.  She will continue to do many great things perhaps a little slower for the time being.  You know Sister Nielson, she is a trooper and nothing gets her down.  I am so very blessed.  A very tender mercy from the Lord.

The many, many lives you touch strengthen more people than you will ever know. The Fletcher's will be praying for a speedy and full recovery.

  12. Dear Nielson's,
I just got a call tonight telling me of Judi's health scare. I am so grateful that she is doing well now. I completely believe that you were blessed. I have seen how hard mission president's and their wives work and I want you to know how much I appreciate all you do for the Lord and his children. I hope you both continue to be healthy and and happy.
