After dinner, it was time for our 'tie-cutting ceremony' where every Elder leaves a piece of himself behind in the mission field. Elder Leimer looks a bit apprehensive!
Joining this good Elder for his going away dinner and testimony meeting were our Assistants and the Office Elders. (LtoR): Elders Krzyminski, Curtis, Tanner, Leimer and Dabrowski.
The next morning instead of taking Elder Leimer to the airport to catch a plane to Germany, he was greeted by his father, President Leimer. The Leimers were heading to the train station to catch a train to Katowice. They were going to 'hitch' a ride with the Assistants who were going that way!
As we left the mission home we found this...a flat tire! We have Elders arriving at the train station in 20 minutes and a full day of Zone Leader Council meetings. This is one of those things that you don't plan on but just happens.
An answer to prayer... Elder and Sister Jensen were dropping something off at the mission home; and they also have extra room in their car. After the train station run, Elder Jensen spent the day fixing this situation. What a great help!
What we couldn't get in their car we loaded into my car and off we went. The challenge with the transportation today was most of our Zone Leaders were transferring and taking all of their luggage: Elder Hooker from Wroclaw to Bydgoszcz, Elder Siebert from Katowice to Warsaw, Elder Sorn from Warsaw to Bydgoszcz, Elder Hancock from Kielce to Warsaw and Elder Waits from Gdansk to Katowice (last night) and back to Warsaw this morning. (Trust me, there was a reason for this!) What does all this mean? LOTS OF BIG BAGS! All these Missionaries need to be picked up for Zone Leader Council which is supposed to start in 45 minutes...
The Leimers met their train and were on their way to Katowice. We will miss Elder Leimer. He was the first missionary we met in the MTC in January 2010, two years ago!! He is an outstanding missionary and could be counted on in every situation. We wish him the best and know he will accomplish marvelous things his whole life. We love you, Elder Leimer!
