These missionaries ARE taking a test....a Polish language quiz. This activity is part of District Meeting...to test (and discuss) how well they are comprehending the language program they study daily. Elders Tanner, Rogers, Kennedy, Lundin, Eastman, Murphey, Sisters Steadman and Garcia.
Elder Tanner (District Leader) not only led the language discussion but did a great job teaching Lesson #4: "Revelation Through the Book of Mormon".
It seemed like Christmas for Elders Kennedy, Rogers. Lundin and Sister Garcia. But these missionaries weren't the only ones receiving 'gifts' today....
Throughout the Church, missionary companionships now have DVD Players in their apartments for Study. They review the District l and District ll DVD's produced by the Church for Missionary Training. The missionaries in Poland are receiving these DVD players- only DVD's with a Church Logo are to be played on these. So, please families support our missionaries as they Become More Effective Teachers and don't send DVD's of the latest movies or family videos.
Along with the DVD players and DVD's, each companionship receives Fire Extinguishers and Fire Blankets for safety reasons in their apartments. Not the most exciting gifts they have ever received, BUT they are important.
Now on to Gdansk to distribute the same gifts. You can see the same look of "Happiness" on these missionaries. We had a great District Meeting conducted by Elder Krzyminski.
Members of the Gdansk District. L toR: Elder and Sister Zatylny, Elders Krzyminski, Nielson, Garrett and Waits. Great missionaries and all working hard.
Afterwards, Sister Zatylny served her homemade Chili. It was delicious. These visits are always the best, and we love her homemade rolls. As the District Meetings were over, President held interviews with all of the missinaries. These are wonderful times. President comes away with such a love and admiration for our missionaries. They are obedient, serve with all their might, mind, and strength. We do have the best calling in the Church!
These are two of our great missionaries. Elders Garrett and Nielson. They are serving as Junior Companions and have 5 weeks remaining in Poland. They are such a support and lead by their examples and committment to the work. We hope the days go by real slow until November 11. I know their families do not want to hear that, but we love them and are not looking forward to them returning home.
American fire extinguishers, is that right?
